Mini Moto Dirt Bikes – Important info

Mini Motos are not toys they are Mini Motorbikes and the following info should be taken very seriously when thinking about purchasing one.

Mini Motos are extremely popular due to their size, quickness and smart looks which allows people to own a motorbike that they may not have had the space or budget for prior to these coming on to the market. These minimotos have been around for years and spare parts are extremely easy to obtain and readily available across the UK including from us.

What we need to make you aware of is that price always reflects quality and component reliability. It would be wrong for anyone to say or think that a £159 bike is going to be the same quality as a £600+ bike! Mini motos are built and are classed as off-road competition bikes and are well known for being abused and receiving far harder use then designed to take. They are not designed/built for jumping, kerb hopping, rough terrain, or for young children.  These mini bikes require constant maintenance and these types of machines should only be purchased if you are or have access to someone mechanically minded that can carry out the servicing and repairs needed.

Due to the cheap price you should expect parts to break or not last very long. Parts cost, same as the bike, next to nothing and therefore will regularly need changing. Constant maintenance will be required and these bikes are not the type you can leave in your shed for months and expect to work immediately the next time you use it without some kind of servicing. Nuts and bolts will require constant checking and with crashes/falls parts will get damaged and fail as the bike is put through its paces. Expect parts like pull starts, carburettors and clutches to need replacing although looking after and respecting your bike will prolong the life of some parts.

The engines are usually very good but can be temperamental as these little two-stroke engines require adjustment and tuning from time to time. Simple things like too lean or too rich fuel/oil mixture can also cause running problems so again it is best to have someone mechanically minded on hand as you will need them.

We would rather be honest and let you know exactly what you are purchasing then you receive an item and be disappointed in the product or us.

Please note that with all Mini Moto products we offer a 30 day parts-only warranty. Once machines are started and used they cannot be returned. Please only purchase machines if you agree to this. Due to the nature of use, these bikes are impossible to warrant beyond 30 days.

Regulations

Please note: all mini moto products are NOT classed as toys, they are officially classified as off-road competition-only bikes, due to their design and potential top speed. Their build quality and performance means they are not covered by the Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 or BS EN 71. All machines are CE marked as standard.
